GRCC Holland campus still on track for fall 2021 opening

HOLLAND — Grand Rapids Community College’s plan to open a consolidated campus in Holland is still on track despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The project continues to move forward through design phases and is projected to meet the goal of opening for the fall 2021 semester.

In September, GRCC moved to purchase the former J.C. Penney building at the Shops at Westshore with the idea of consolidating its four current Ottawa County locations into one.

The 50,000-square-foot building will allow the college to “consolidate programs and student support services in a larger space, increase employer and educator partnerships and enhance teaching and learning,” GRCC said in a recent statement to The Sentinel.
